Add barcodes to articles

You can add barcodes to your articles in BackOffice using a barcode scanner, manual entry, or your device's camera. You can also use the Scan to add feature to find additional product details, such as images, allergens, and ingredients, through the Swedish GS1 ProductSearch.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to the Articles page

    • In the BackOffice menu, select Articles and go to the Articles page.
  2. Edit an article

    • Click an article to open the Edit article dialog.
  3. Add a barcode You have these options for adding a barcode:

    • Manual entry or barcode scanner

      1. Click More and then click on the Barcode text field
      2. Scan or enter the barcode and press Enter.
    • Using device camera or GS1 ProductSearch

      1. Click Scan to add in the top right corner.
      2. Choose how you want to enter the barcode:
        • Camera: Select Camera and scan the barcode.
        • GS1 ProductSearch: Type the product name in the text field and click Search.
      3. Confirm:
        • If a match is found, select the article. In the dialog that opens, choose the information to save.
        • If no match is found, click Add barcode anyway.
  4. Save changes Make sure to save your changes when you're done.

Important notes

  • If you want to use a barcode scanner to register the barcodes in BackOffice, connect it directly to the device you're using (e.g. a laptop) via USB.
  • Once you've added your barcodes, make sure to use the * Installation guide on how to install the barcode scanner to your cash register via your printer.
