Connecting a payment terminal to a new cash register
You can connect a payment terminal to a specific cash register by selecting it from the list in cash register settings. This makes it easy to move terminals between locations as needed.
When the terminal belongs to a different cost center
The issue: If your payment terminal is currently connected to a cash register at a different cost center (for example, "CC1"), it won't appear in the list when you try to select it from a cash register at another cost center (for example, "CC2").
Why this happens: Cash registers can only access payment terminals within their own cost center.
The solution: Temporarily change your cash register's cost center to match the terminal's cost center, connect the terminal, then change the cost center back.
How to move a terminal between cost centers
Step 1: Match the cash register to the terminal's cost center
- Log in to BackOffice.
- Select Company in the main menu.
- Go to the Devices page.
- Find and select your cash register in the list.
- In the dialog that opens, change the cost center to match where the payment terminal currently belongs.
- Save your changes.
Important
If you've processed any sales today, you must first close the day by creating a Z report from the cash register. See the guide Create Z daily report.
Step 2: Connect the payment terminal
- Log in to the cash register with your PIN code.
- Open the menu and go to Settings > Payment terminals.
- Select the payment terminal from the list.
Step 3: Return the cash register to it's original cost center
- Log in to BackOffice.
- Navigate to Company > Devices in the main menu.
- Select your cash register from the list.
- In the dialog that opens, change the cost center back to it's original location.
- Save your changes.
